Two weeks ago, we started the «Solidarity Gardens II» project. The main focus of the project is to bring people together to grow food, share experiences, and support vulnerable groups. Two weeks is a relatively short period, but our Volunteers already have something to share ↓

How do you feel about the vibe in pazo and living in international environment? What challenges have you faced and how to overcome them?
Of course, there are some challenges it’s not always possible to get along perfectly with everyone, since we live with many people from different backgrounds. That naturally brings some difficulties, but learning how to overcome them is very important. Here, I’m trying to do that to improve myself with tolerance and kindness, without hurting anyone. Even though it can sometimes be hard, I truly enjoy the atmosphere of Pazo and working in the garden. The garden’s historical charm, its peaceful nature, and the feeling of being surrounded by old stone buildings give me a sense of calm. It’s a place that connects the past with the present and strengthens our sense of community. Working there feels both relaxing and beautiful.

What is your impression about the living conditions in Pazo de Illobre? What do you like and dislike?
I really enjoy the living conditions in Pazo de Illobre. We live surrounded by nature in a calm and peaceful environment, which allows me to disconnect from city life and reconnect with myself. Sometimes being away from home and living together with people from different cultures feels a bit unusual, but I’m getting used to it over time.

What have you already gained during these two weeks and what do you expect to gain in the remaining period in Spain?
People from different cultures is truly a unique experience. Working in harmony with nature is wonderful, and having a garden based entirely on organic and sustainable farming methods is truly educational and inspiring. I’ve also discovered some wonderful hiking trails that help me relax and connect even more with nature. In my remaining time, I plan to develop new ideas for our garden and organize a small workshop to share them with others. I’ll also continue exploring new hiking trails, sharing our gardening efforts on social media, and improving my language skills through daily communication and conversations with volunteers. Overall, this experience has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and I look forward to learning even more in the coming weeks.
